We are finally past the dreary first half of January, and we have hit the last half of the month where it's acceptable to start celebrating Valentine's Day! Hooray!
I love this fun holiday,
mainly because pink is my favorite color and hearts are my favorite
shape. I have already done a little bit of shopping for the kiddos,
especially Vivi (because it's way easier and more fun to dress up little
girls for Valentine's Day than anyone else in the house). And now that
we are less than a month away, we have started sporting all of our
heart-shaped finery. Here are a few items that I have been crushing on
for V-day.
turban // heart headband // striped dress // rubber mary janes // bib // leggings // hunter boots // red patent leather bow // red glitter bow headband // pink glitter bow headband // red quilted dress // polka dot toms
dino shirt // mom shirt // xoxo shirt // CG Valentine's Day book // skull shirt // cupid onesie // mommy's little valentine shirt // Hunter boots // toms
felt rose pillow //love pillow // Georgia wall plaque // chalkboard print // banner // boxwood wreath // heart bowls // cake stand // LOVE marquee sign // measuring spoons // Tervis water bottle
You may have noticed that I left out a Valentine board for the man in your life. That's because the only reasonable heart-themed item I could find for a man is exactly one pair of underpants.
I have such a weak spot for pink and red and hearts, and I am having a hard time resisting all of the fun goodies. I'm looking forward to making heart-shaped everything for Bobby and Vivi this next month. Heart-shaped fruit, sandwiches, and pancakes..pancakes are way better when they come in hearts, right? I think I may even attempt a heart-shaped cookie baking extravaganza. Hopefully it won't be an epic fail like our Christmas cookie shitshow.

We are half-way through the week, which means Alex will be home in a few days. We have been spending a lot of time with friends and keeping busy, so it hasn't been too bad on our own. Bobby goes to a Mother's Day Out program two days a week, which is a huge help to me. It's nice to have some one-on-one time with Vivi. Sometimes we play, sometimes I catch up on housework that I can't do when he's around, sometimes we run errands, and sometimes we just curl up with each other and take a nice nap together. The little school that Bobby goes to is also great for him. He loves it, and I know it's beneficial for him to socialize with other kids his age. I highly recommend putting a toddler into a little Mother's Day Out program; it's good for everyone involved and totally worth the money.

On an unrelated note, Vivi must be going through some kind of a growth spurt because she is eating like a wild beast. I am having to go to the grocery store every couple of days to buy more food for her!
And speaking of food, remember how I set a goal to stop eating so much sugar? Well...
yeah. |
Keep on keepin' on!
