Well, this week was infinitely better than the last because Alex returned home! There were two little tots (and a wifey) who were happy to welcome him back.
Most of this week was pretty boring and usual, aside from the red velvet pancakes I made the kiddos one morning (spoiler alert- they didn't touch them, so I had to eat them all myself). It rained a lot this week, and a lot of our time was spent indoors until the sun finally decided to shine later on.
I have been having a hard time getting Bobby to eat bananas lately, so I resorted to dipping them in chocolate and then freezing them, and they were a big hit! I won't tell you how I know this, but chocolate-dipped peaches are also surprisingly delicious.
A few of my favorite things on this beautiful, patriotic Friday include:
The five hundred tons of freshly-caught sockeye salmon that Alex brought back from Alaska. We are swimming in salmon over here, and I couldn't be happier! I've spend most of my week scouring Pinterest for different cooking ideas.
This dress. I need it badly. It is the most lovely, feminine dress I've seen in a while. I would dress it up or down and wear it all summer long. I guess I'm just into the cottony-lace vibe in general, because I also love this similar blouse, as well as this pineapple-y one, and this stunning coral blouse. Lace just feels so classic and romantic in the summertime heat.
My friend gave me these Kendra Scott pyramid studs in hot pink, and I adore them. They're tiny enough to wear to the gym or the pool, but the pink keeps them sassy!
I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a good tan tote bag. I want one that is big enough to carry a bunch of mom-crap (like diapers, swim diapers, sun screen, hot wheels, etc), but doesn't scream "I belong to a dumpy mom." It needs to be a bag that I would comfortably carry solo, as well (not that I am EVER solo). Oh, the other prerequisite is that it needs to be inexpensive. My top picks include this reversible tote and this slouchy tote.
I can't wait to try these breakfast popsicles next week. Bobby is in a phase where he refuses to eat anything healthy, but I know he can't resist popsicles. Heh.
These pearl flats may be a little pricey, but man, are they the cutest! I would wear them every single day with every single thing. Even sweatpants, just on the principle of it.
I just got Vivi these little flamingo pajamas, and they're so sweet. The flamingos even have bows, y'all :)
And finally- I need this shirt, guys. It is my life.
We are at the beach this weekend with family, and we are looking forward to making lots of fun memories and eating lots of oysters! I hope you all have a magical and safe 4th of July!
Happy Birthday, America!
