The Sweetest Things

I've had sugar on the brain for way too long. Like 28 years too long. It's a true addiction for me.
Like most of you who cannot function without that first cup of coffee, I also have a vice. I can't get going until I have sugar. And then 15 minutes later, I need it again, and then 20 minutes later...well, you see where I'm going with this. I can't eat a meal without needing a dessert. Then I get the sugar highs. And after that comes the crash. So to make myself feel better, I'll eat just a little more sugar. Just a little more. Just this time. I'll stop soon. That's what I always say.
But I've finally hit my personal bottom.
Vivi's birthday celebration (more on that later this week) was equipped with a fully stocked dessert bar, and man oh man, did I indulge. I indulged to the point of finally getting enough. For the first time in a few years, I don't crave candy or cake or cookies at all.
It's oddly unsettling.
But so far, I've gone 3 days without eating any sweets, and that is a record for me. Cutting back on sweets is always toughest at the beginning, but if you can do it for 2-3 weeks, you should be set after that. I just need to hang in there a little longer.

But just because I'm not eating sweets does not mean I can ignore all the adorable sweet treats showing up in kids' clothing, home decor, and jewelry. I'm noticing a trend in the candy-colored, glossy, fun stripes, as well as prints ranging from ice cream cones, popsicles, candy, macaroons, and cupcakes. It's the sweetest!

Because desserts seem to be trending in Spring-going-into-Summer, I decided that my next collection for Little Peach Bows (my Etsy shop, link is in the top tab) would be The Sweet Shop Collection. We've got everything from cake slices, doughnuts, and lemon pie, to macaroons, ice cream cones, and popsicles in the shop, and it's dropping...NOW!

Enjoy and have an awesome afternoon!
